- Conduct 1-2 weekly group/workshops for program participants utilizing Allstate Foundation Moving Ahead through Financial Management curriculum and other curriculums as approved to include various workshops on housing and other life skills
- Co-Facilitate Domestic Violence support group
- Conduct initial intake on all program participants who enter program
- Assist each family who engage in services in developing a Re-Housing Plan within 2 weeks to assist them in achieving self-sufficiency and permanent housing and meet bi-weekly to develop and assist with goals
- Provide support to participants in career planning
- Complete safety plans with all participants as necessary
- Network in the community to ensure that participants have access and information on educational and vocational resources to include employment prospects
- Makes appropriate referrals and follow-up with participants

Qualifications:
- BSW required but M.S.W. preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) preferred
- At least one year in performing client-directed services in a field such as social service, grassroots organizations, community advocacy, or youth intervention.
- Knowledge of domestic violence, dating violence and sexual assault
- Prior experience working with children and teen survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking preferred
- Experience in utilizing therapeutic techniques from a trauma-informed, empowerment and strengths-based perspective
- Must understand and relate to the needs of the project participants of diverse ethnic, cultural, educational, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Certification preferred but will certify if necessary

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide brief and long term counseling to youth ages 12 to 18 who have experienced sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and/or stalking to assist in reducing clinical symptoms and distress related to depression, anxiety, PTSD and other mental health challenges utilizing an eclectic therapeutic approach.
- Assist in needs assessments and implementation of the OVW Service Advocate for and Respond to Youth Program at the YWCA and at Martin Luther King Family Services
- Collaborate with Martin Luther King Family Services Outreach Worker on services that is strengths-based and participant-defined
- Develop and complete Individualized Support Plans, Quarterly Individualized Support Plans and Termination Summaries
- Assist in creating client intake and assessments and complete with program participants
- Conduct ongoing safety planning with children and their caregivers if needed, focusing on safety issues related to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking and/or self-harm.
- Ensure a strengths-based model of service delivery that is mission driven and respectful of diverse population to promote client self-sufficiency
- Conduct groups using variety of curriculums that meets the needs of the participants.
- Complete proper documentation from counseling/group sessions with participants including maintenance of files and input into Client Track
- Respond to all serious incidents including mental health emergencies and mandated reporting and ensure proper agency procedures and guidelines are followed including documentation and prompt notification to appropriate state agency(s)
- Provide crisis intervention
- Provide case management services as needed
- Aid in facilitating Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Certification trainings as well as refresher trainings offered by the YWCA
- Participate in community outreach in order to create collaborations between YWCA and community agencies
- Coordinate services with other YWCA programs
- Coordinate services with community agencies/providers that are involved in client's lives including DCF, Physicians, Psychiatrist, school and other stakeholders in the community.
